Scio Comprehensive Plan

Following a five-year update process, Scio’s new 2019 - Comprehensive Plan received final council approval and adoption on February 11, 2019. Comprehensive planning is a a process that determines community goals and aspirations in terms of community development. The outcome of comprehensive planning is a Comprehensive plan which dictates public policy in terms of transportation, utilities, land use, recreation and housing. The Comprehensive Plan helps the City prepare and manage population and employment growth, as well as plan for and coordinate economic development. The new plan replaces Scio’s first comprehensive plan that was adopted in 1980. Each chapter contains a series of maps which the city utilizes to guide development. The navigation bar to your left allows you to quickly navigate between chapters and also contains links directly to the maps that are contained in each chapter.
