City Manager Message Greetings and welcome to the City of Scio’s Website: As like many local governments, Scio operates under a council-manager form of government. The City Manager assists the City Council in the development and formulation of policies and operational procedures; this includes strategic planning, goal setting and defining objectives. It is also the City Manager’s responsibility to keep the council informed of important community issues. The position has the responsibility of translating the city council’s goals into budgetary priorities and represents the city’s interests throughout the State of Oregon and beyond. While we are small we are mighty! Including the City Manager’s position, Scio employs five full-time employees. Staff values its’ citizenry and strives to provide accessibility, respect, and responsiveness to all community desires. As the “local government” closest to the people, we value honesty and maintain government and personal integrity through “open door” communication, active participation and transparency to the public we serve.
